![]() So are you oppsed to any US involvement even ifthere was absolute proof/admission etc that this guy is gassing his own citizens? Or are you agaibst it because there is some uncertainty?

Look at you the War Hawk now
![]() I guess I have now seen enough failed efforts in the Middle East and the lost of US life. Went to the Chargers game the other night. They honored the wounded warriors and those that lost their life. Not sure trading life for life is an answer. I know some people that suffer from PTSD - makes life very difficult for them and their families. How long will be be before we have boots on the ground?

thats one of my issues with the subject. there is no guarantee (how could there be?) that it wouldn't come to that eventually. i have uncertainty about who used what over there. i also do not want us involved in someone else's civil war...especially when you don't know who the good guys are, or if there are good guys. there's also the fact that the middle east is like a big pool of quicksand. doesn't appear too dangerous, seems easy enough to handle...and then the longer you struggle, the worse off you are. lastly, what has it got to do with us? our national security, or the security of any allies? nothing. more to lose than to gain.

If I encounter a pair of wild dogs fighting in the street, I don't feel compelled to risk life and limb to break it up. Why in heaven's name does the US have to get involved in this mess?
There are atrocities being committed by both sides, and have been in every war (civil or otherwise) since the beginning of time. Taking action against one side implies aiding the other, a step we should not be willing to take at this time. I used to like Kerry, but the more forcefully he sounds off, the less believeable he becomes to me. |

Got this email from a Texas bud...
Dear John & Grace, The Bishops of the United States are asking that all Catholics join with Pope Francis in praying for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Syria on Saturday, September 7. The Pope is holding a Prayer Vigil in St. Peter Square from 7:00 to 11:00pm Saturday night (that’s 12:00 to 4:00pm Dallas time). I would encourage all members of the parish to join as families and/or with friends in observing some form of prayer and fasting tomorrow. While our church is occupied all day tomorrow, the Eucharistic Chapel is certainly available for private/personal prayer should you choose to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the Tabernacle. More information about the crisis and the position of the U. S. Bishops on the crisis can be found at http://cms.usccb.org/issues-and-acti...yria/index.cfm. Please pray for peace! Fr. Bob Reverend Monsignor Robert M. Coerver, V.F. Pastor Saint Rita Catholic Community 12521 Inwood Road Dallas, TX 75244

How morally bankrupt must an adult human be, to threaten raping an underage daughter of an enemy? And how evil must a country be to publicize said threat?
