Our President scares the **** out of me.

Can anyone tell me they honestly believe the man knows what he's doing?

I find it amazing the President went to congress 'to get the people's opinion' when all he had to do is look at recent public polls, swallow some pride and admit bombing Syria is crazy. Especially considering you have Assad on one side and al Qaeda on the other. And when Syria has been given more than enough time to relocate and hide military assets.

It seems the President now desires to slap Assad in the face with a glove rather than throw a punch. Very French-like of him.

Meanwhile in other news, the Treasury Secretary is warning we're running out of money again and our seniors and military might not get paid. No worries for the likes of Egypt, Afghanistan etc. they getting their paper. But let's keep focus on Syria.

he's a far cry from the guy who ran for office, isn't he?

i usually like being right...but i'd have rather been wrong about him and everything going on so far this year.
thus far, his 2nd term is going really, amazingly badly.

the only bright spot seems to be that the economy is doing ok. for now.

Default A Case for Not Bombing Syria

Has anyone seen a recent picture of Obama? His hair is rapidly turning pure white as he gets the crap kicked out of him on Syria and Obamacare.

I hope the Syria thing doesn't go for a vote, because there's no way that it will pass. That NY Times picture today sealed the deal. Obama needs to find a way out of this, and quick. I'm beginning to think that Kerry/Obama is starting to look like a Bizzaro Cheney/Bush thing.

it seemed like a done deal at first, but i'm not so sure that congress will vote to strike syria. it's not in our interests, in any way, shape or form, and would probably cause more problems than it would solve. because it would most likely solve nothing.

Look at you the War Hawk now

I guess I have now seen enough failed efforts in the Middle East and the lost of US life. Went to the Chargers game the other night. They honored the wounded warriors and those that lost their life. Not sure trading life for life is an answer. I know some people that suffer from PTSD - makes life very difficult for them and their families.

How long will be be before we have boots on the ground?

I absolutely oppose BOG, and hope there isn't a slippery slope leading to that.

thats one of my issues with the subject. there is no guarantee (how could there be?) that it wouldn't come to that eventually.

i have uncertainty about who used what over there. i also do not want us involved in someone else's civil war...especially when you don't know who the good guys are, or if there are good guys.

there's also the fact that the middle east is like a big pool of quicksand. doesn't appear too dangerous, seems easy enough to handle...and then the longer you struggle, the worse off you are.

lastly, what has it got to do with us? our national security, or the security of any allies? nothing. more to lose than to gain.

Nothing, nothing and yes...always turmoil in the middle east...and we are always trying to keep peace even if we have to start a war to do it.
and keep the oil flowing.....damned if we do or don't

Got this email from a Texas bud...

Dear John & Grace,
The Bishops of the United States are asking that all Catholics join with Pope Francis in praying for a peaceful resolution to the crisis in Syria on Saturday, September 7. The Pope is holding a Prayer Vigil in St. Peter Square from 7:00 to 11:00pm Saturday night (that’s 12:00 to 4:00pm Dallas time). I would encourage all members of the parish to join as families and/or with friends in observing some form of prayer and fasting tomorrow. While our church is occupied all day tomorrow, the Eucharistic Chapel is certainly available for private/personal prayer should you choose to spend some time before the Blessed Sacrament reserved in the Tabernacle.

More information about the crisis and the position of the U. S. Bishops on the crisis can be found at http://cms.usccb.org/issues-and-acti...yria/index.cfm.

Please pray for peace!

Fr. Bob

well, i guess it's progress from back when they'd call crusades. don't kill your fellow christians (less money in the collection plate) but by all means, go kill some infidels.

How morally bankrupt must an adult human be, to threaten raping an underage daughter of an enemy? And how evil must a country be to publicize said threat?
