Probably Dort has a better chance for the big money in the P. At least if only one of them go. Am P would beat him if they both do. Depends on if they both come out in shape. Baff's said he liked AP more from the start.

You really think baffert would run Dortmund in the Preakness if his derby winner is there?

I think Firing Line is the best choice for the Preakness and Dortmund to the Belmont. But then again, owners aside I'd keep both of them out of each race if I was Baffert. That said, he won't since he's a horseman first and a businessman second.

Baffert told Jay Privman this morning that Dortmund will go to Preakness. Simon Callaghan says Firing Line exited Derby well and is a Pimli-go.

When did Baffert get Firing Line?

I think Dortmund will run better for the Preakness. He was super-sharp yesterday.

And different owners. You never can tell owners to shy away from a race the horse would do well in, even if a better horse is in the barn. Ask Pletcher. He's run horses in the Derby that I could outrun at 10 furlongs. 8 panels and the anchor goes out on both sides of the boat.

Frosted may be the one Baffert needs to worry about, assuming he goes to the Preakness. Nice closing kick in the Derby and I'm sure he will be as far back . . . easy to say with likely only 8-10 horses in the race. He'll need to be much closer to beat AP if AP brings his stuff again.

I'd be more apt to take Frosted in the Belmont then the Preakness.

Aside from the obvious, what would adding an extra quarter mile do for a horse that had the race is own way and folded up after a mile and a quarter?

Me neither. He is the only chance to upset a triple crown bid at this point, unless Upstart rests and decides he wants to run in June.
