bushes first mistake regarding afganistan was invading iraq. it took troops, support, money, time and attention away from afganistan. second mistake was staying far too long-but the amount of time we should have spent (and men, money and materiel) is skewed because of mistake number one. had we managed our resources, afganistan would have lasted a few years at most. it also would have served notice to all the petty dictators who didn't take enough note from gulf one.
our foreign policies have been fubar since ww2.
