Am reading a book...and this jumped out at me...

A new England clergyman wrote 'I have never heard bad tidings on anything which gave me such a shock'.
The book is about our third President, and the news he wrote of was hearing Jefferson had won the Presidency.
I have always thought, and I hope I always will think that our country is too great and the people overall too good to let one man ruin us. Or woman.
That guy who survived a civil war certainly survived Th. Jefferson!
