Default A Brand New Day at the Big A

Anyone that watched yesterday's races knows it was a super strong inside track that faored speed. The fractions were wicked and the speeds hung on pretty much. Well, after seeing the fractions of the first two races, and the finishes, i would say we are back to a normal track.

Boy, had it been normal yesterday i would've KILLED 'em!

The third looked like yesterday but I tend to think it was more circumstantial. Have to keep watching.

I'm inclined to think the 3rd was a result of the 4 being severely overbet and the 3 getting some good handling from Luzzi rather than a return to yesterday's joke of a surface.

Incidentally, my friend's runner in the 4th yesterday was one of the only horses to make up ground in the stretch on the outside, to finish 2nd. Considering the incompetent Chantal not being able to get him out of the gate (and he had shown excellent gate works coming in) and it was his first start, I'd say it was an excellent debut. Should be an easy winner next out... Thoughts?

Your friend owns that horse? His trainer is a good friend. I thought the horse ran very well.

I am tempted to bet a few bucks on #4 Kibbitz in the 4th. Nondescript field of NY Bred maidens, no firster getting pounded, and this horse, from those connections keeps taking nibbles. Couldn't she be 60-1 and not 13-1?

This trainer doesn't send out many but he pops them... 6-21 on the year!

I like the 6, those that have started have been unimpressive.

Yeah, he was a $47k 2YO in training purchase, which i thought was a pretty good price because the mare already dropped a $400k winner. Rizzi is a decent NY stallion... and there's always value in NYB's as far as I'm concerned. Quite a bit of pretty mediocre horseflesh has won over $100k...

The takedown was legit.

My firster ran like she should have been 60-1.

And of course I bash the experienced horses and the only reasonable ones run 1-2.

In the 7th I'll start a pick 3 with the 4, ROSENBACH'S HALO. In a field of compulsive losers, this one has the best pace numbers and gets a very positive rider switch to Jara. Had to go very wide in her last in a turf sprint and was only beaten 5 lengths in a race that returned a good final figure.

The 8th is wide open, so I'll use 1,3,4,5,6, and 8 with extra emphasis on the 6 and 8.
In the 9th the 3 is a virtual single but I'll have a backup ticket with the 2 and 4.

Good luck to your friend; I'll root for this horse.
He lost a filly yesterday morning (same trainer too) after her work at Belmont so that encouraging performance was badly needed.

Hey Sniper,
In no way am I putting this out as a "red board".
I didn't bet the race on Sat that Naughty NYer won.
I have put out Wing Man in the past, and this one was a winner on Friday for John Nehrud...congrats to this grand man of racing.
Alas, this was once that I also didn't put down my dollars. One of my friends did. Paid $5.30. He had far more than $2 on this one.
I'm curious to know if you caught Wing Man's race, and would like to know what you think about the next.

Sorry, didn't watch any of the Friday races. I probably wouldn't be the best to ask anyways, I don't cap Aqueduct much during the winter. Too much NFL to watch.

Thanks for getting back, Sniper.
Maybe some other DTers have something to say.
