![]() I was explaining the 2002 BC Pick-6 scandal to a friend, and a thought occurred to me about multi-race wager pools. In today's hi-tech world, is it possible to put on multi-race wagers in the way the cheaters did in 2002?
By way of example, I only have to pick my horses in the first leg, and I get to add others as the races unfold. I buy a $100 pick 4 voucher and name my two horses for the first leg. This leaves me 50 comibantions in the next three legs. If one of my two horses wins the first leg, I register my picks for the second leg. and so on. If I lose the first race, the whole $100 is gone. If I fail to register picks for a given race, I forfeit the ticket. If I have money left over after participating in all four legs, I get a refund. Just seems like this would be an interesing way to approach the bet. What makes me really question this is that I have a couple of friends who don't like multi race wagers, because you can't see the horse flesh before you've put you're money on them. |
