Shocker: Obama Breaks Another Promise

Obama has broken another campaign promise. Back in 2008 when he was running for president, he promised to "strengthen the moratorium on commercial whaling". Now he unexplicably is backing a deal to lift the ban on commercial whaling.

According to the Obama Administration, this will be a good thing for the whales. They are so full of crap it is unbelievable. Every single anti-whaling group is against this proposal.

So you're in favor of ending the international moratorium on whaling? And you are ok with Obama breaking his promise?

I understand the supposed complexities of the situation. But it must not be all that complex because every single anti-whaling group is against ending the ban. How do you explain that? Do you think all these groups are Obama haters?

I'm sure if Bush was the President right now and he wanted to end the whaling ban, you would be talking about how complex the situation is. LOL.

no doubt in my mind that even if whale numbers were higher than ever, anti-whalers would be against removing a moratorium. they're not exactly who i'd ask to give an unbiased opinion.
as for obama 'breaking a promise', he should never have made that or any promise to begin with. promises are made to be broken-if anyone knows that, a politician does!

You are totally missing the point. If there was some type of debate going on about the numbers of the whale population, then we would want an unbiased group's opinion. In this case, there is no debate about that. The Obama Administration has never claimed that the whale population is in good shape. Quite to the contrary, the Obama Administration is saying that we need to protect the whales.

"The Obama administration argues that the new deal will save thousands of whales over the next decade by stopping the three countries from illegally exploiting loopholes in the moratorium."

The point is that Obama is the only one that thinks this will save whales.
