Shocker: Obama Breaks Another Promise
Obama has broken another campaign promise. Back in 2008 when he was running for president, he promised to "strengthen the moratorium on commercial whaling". Now he unexplicably is backing a deal to lift the ban on commercial whaling.
According to the Obama Administration, this will be a good thing for the whales. They are so full of crap it is unbelievable. Every single anti-whaling group is against this proposal. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010...rcial-whaling/ |

As usual, the situation is somewhat more complex than the Obama haters want it to be. This is a decent article on it. |

I understand the supposed complexities of the situation. But it must not be all that complex because every single anti-whaling group is against ending the ban. How do you explain that? Do you think all these groups are Obama haters? I'm sure if Bush was the President right now and he wanted to end the whaling ban, you would be talking about how complex the situation is. LOL. |
no doubt in my mind that even if whale numbers were higher than ever, anti-whalers would be against removing a moratorium. they're not exactly who i'd ask to give an unbiased opinion.
as for obama 'breaking a promise', he should never have made that or any promise to begin with. promises are made to be broken-if anyone knows that, a politician does! |
As long as it doesn't ruin Whale Wars, I'm okay with whatever they decide.

What a silly show. Wonder how many millions they spend attacking humans for catching a species of whale that isn't endangered/protected?
|
O'Dumbass breaking a promise. How many times now has this sorry excuse for a President broken campaign promises?

"The Obama administration argues that the new deal will save thousands of whales over the next decade by stopping the three countries from illegally exploiting loopholes in the moratorium." The point is that Obama is the only one that thinks this will save whales. |

I guess since they are only a "threatened species" on the endagered species list, that it's fine to kill them. LOL. "Minkes whales are listed on the endangered species list as a threatened species as there remains only approximately 800,000 minkes in the world. Some Japanese and Russian vessels are still known to hunt minke whales. Minke whales have been protected by international law since 1986." http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Is_the_min...dangered_whale "Although it's numbers are not endangered it is on the endangered list as a threatened species, and is protected (since 1986) worldwide by international law." http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...&ct=clnk&gl=us |
Ok, so is it going to ruin Whale Wars or not, Rupert?

Who do the Japanese think they are kidding with that big "reserach" sign on their ships? How stupid do they think people are? Do they honestly think people will think it's ok to kill these whales if they have a sign on their ship that says "research"? |

Can the show ship in some whales off the Gaza Strip for sweeps week? Throw in some Somali pirates, an Iranian battleship? I'd watch that. |
