I found out this week a high school classmate of mine was murdered by her husband. He shot her Monday, took their 4 year old son to day care Tuesday and then returned to the house and shot himself. It was discovered when no one came to pick up the little boy and the day care called authorities. So awful. From what I was told by classmates who were closer to her than I was, there isn't any family other than my classmate's mother, who is in a nursing home, so the little boy is with Social Services and will likely have to enter the foster care system.

I can assure Dellinger that my classmate was not Muslim. So, does this mean Christians are all wife-killing orphan makers?
Horrific thing to happen. Surprised he did not kill the child too. Seems like folks like that usually do. Maybe the child's age will work in his favor and he will be adopted pretty quickly to a loving home. We can always hope.

I hope so; I'm worried 4 is getting old; isn't that awful? It sounds awful also, but maybe the publicity around the case will give the child a better chance of a family wanting to take him in. I mean, it's certain they won't have to worry about the biological parents showing up and wanting him back.

It just sucks that there's no family (as far as I know) able to take the poor little guy. My poor classmate lost her brother in a kayaking accident in the Susquehanna last year. I can't imagine what her mother is going through now.

I imagine a lot of folks want a baby when they adopt, but not everyone. A lady I worked with adopted a little girl from Social Services here in Arkansas and she was older than that.

It is very sad what happens to some families. Some seem to have more than their share of death and dying.
