That is the whole point. Obama obviously told the literary agent he was born in Kenya. The literary agent didn't come up with it out of thin air. Assuming Obama was born in Hawaii, maybe Obama thought it would make his story more interesting if he claimed he was from Kenya. That is the only half-way credible argument I can come up with to explain why the literary agent wrote this, if in fact Obama is truly from Hawaii.

I think this story is a smoking gun. However, I don't even know if anyone will care at this point. I think people from both sides are going to believe what they want to believe, regardless of the evidence.

.
Or ... this fully-credible argument. Why would Obama not correct it? He'd never see it. It was an in-industry thing.

Breitbart News reports on a promotional booklet produced in 1991 by Barack Obama's then-literary agency which describes the author as "born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii."

Miriam Goderich issued the following statement to Political Wire:

"You're undoubtedly aware of the brouhaha stirred up by Breitbart about the erroneous statement in a client list Acton & Dystel published in 1991 (for circulation within the publishing industry only) that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. This was nothing more than a fact checking error by me -- an agency assistant at the time. There was never any information given to us by Obama in any of his correspondence or other communications suggesting in any way that he was born in Kenya and not Hawaii. I hope you can communicate to your readers that this was a simple mistake and nothing more."

Full disclosure: I am a client of the same literary agency.
The President is still black. Many Americans are still really pissed about that.

Note: Drudge knew that the story was false but put this out anyway, with Rush's endorsement. What sleaze.

Yes. Barack Obama was born in Kenya. Barack Obama Senior. How could this mistake possibly have been made? Why, mistakes are never made in industry promotional materials ....

But of course, the logical thing to freak about, would not be that Mitt Romney was born in Mexico, but that Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

What do you mean he knew the story was false? The story is not false. The story is true. The story doesn't prove Obama was born in Kenya but it does prove that the literary agent wrote that Obama was born in Kenya in the bio.

As I said before, people from both sides are going to believe what they want to believe. By the way, the literary agent never claimed that she was thinking about Obama's father. She simply claimed that she made a mistake. Is it possible that she simply made a mistake? Sure it possible but it is not likely.

By the way, you have no evidence that Obama never saw it. To say it would have been unlikely that Obama never saw it would be an understatement. If you write a book and you have a literary agent that you are paying money to, you don't think the literary agent is going to send you the promotional booklet that she is sending out on your book? That is extremely far-fetched.

I'll rephrase: He knew the story had already been explained as the obvious mistake it was. He knew the truth. But he published it anyway. Because apparently all the right-wing loons have this election cycle to feed the Obama hate is recycling Rev. Wright and trying to re-light birtherism?

Yet there sits the certified, verified, beyond-a-doubt birth certificate. There sits two newspaper publications of the birth.

Those documents from the past are discarded, ignored and great lengths (and conspiracies) are created to explain that reality away, while the explanation of a mistake in a promotional pamphlet is denied as coverup.

Good lord. Birtherism is a more ridiculous, lunatic conspiracy theory than the moon landings never happened. Talk about having to create unbelievable gyrations and denial of reality in order to believe it. My god. This country is a laughingstock overseas with "birthers".

His birth certificate has been certified, verified, beyond a doubt? There is tons of evidence to the contrary.

What did Obama's own lawyer Alexandra Hill say about the authenticity of the birth certificate?

You probably never thought that Rev. Wright was a legitimate issue. I don't understand that because if a republican was running for President and it came out that his pastor was constantly preaching anti-black sermons, you would think that was a huge deal.

You mean like Mitt Romney and Robert Jeffress and Jeffress' constant preaching hate speech? Yeah, you'd think that would be a big deal to some.

Well, except those who don't hold a man responsible for the lunatic ravings of his preachers.

They're just as crazy. This thread is about the current President, however. Please, for once, stay focused. I know it's tough. You don't like being wrong.

Huh?????? What does Robert Jeffress have to do with Mitt Romney? Jeffress isn't Romney's pastor. Jeffress isn't a mormon. He is some pastor in Texas that says Mormonism is a cult. What is his connection to Romney?

It's racist to be a true journalist and report stuff.

Whatever slaves. Typical apologist middle class hippies who are intellectually bankrupt and obedient to their socialist masters.

Hang a Russian flag outside instead, tards.
