Who said they are the casue of all our problems but it is pretty maddening when the tolls were raised $4 per trip and you have people taking money and gardening making 90k a year. Makes you wonder what else is money being blown on. Making change in a toll booth or cutting the lawn isnt worth 90k a year of taxpayers (and bridge/tunnel drivers) money.

Yeah. It's all his fault. He's out to get you.
You think it is kosher that people who make change are making 80-100k a year of tax payer money? This after a $4 per trip toll increase?

You mean the 24 out of 147 who earned that working 60 hours a week?

Yeah, it's all their fault, horse boy.

Gee. It's not like this is any surprise. Considering the city itself negotiated and agree to pay these benefits.

Duh.
Union workers dont work a "lifetime" for anyone. They retire to nice pensions which the rest of us pay for.

The old "city negotiated this deal" excuse. Because we all know that unions have never influenced elections in NYC. We all know that the unions would never strike or make out of touch demands to those same politicians that they put in place. We all know that union leaders know that it doesnt matter how badly they screw the city with these deals that the state or feds will ride to the rescue. Is Hazel Dukes your idol?

Too bad the toll increases don't appear to have anything to do with the unions.

Who is blaming anyone for anything except it is insane that they raised tolls $4 a trip and people who make change are making 80-100k a year? So it is ok that people who make change are making more money than teachers or police men or fireman? You know people who have jobs that matter.

Everything in state and local govt in NY has something to do with unions. To deny this is to deny all logic.

Really? The increases that were put in place to close the Port Authority's budget which the Port Authority could not balance in large part because of the salaries and benefits negotiated by the unions?

Not to mention that the job is obsolete and every toll collector could be eliminated and replaced by machines at a much cheaper cost except that the union contracts protect unneccessary jobs?

Or it means I read the news, and you jump to the conclusion that it's all the unions fault, all the time.

Good luck with that perpetual victim thing

The model negotiated by the same union officials who lined the same corrupt politicians pockets that they negotiated these ridiculous contracts with?

No. The toll increases that are on hold because it's illegal to use road taxes for infrastructure at ground zero.

But UNIONS SUCK! IT'S ALL THEIR FAULT! NOBODY ELSE'S! How DARE public workers get a pension! And overtime! It's an outrage!

You read the news? So you arent smart enough to understand that pension funds are the main culprit in the future bankruptcy of NYC? I guess the unions have nothing to do with that right? Just look at NYC OTB to see what the power of unions unchecked can do.

THE TOLLS ARE ALREADY OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!
$20 round trip across the GW bridge
$26 across the Verazano

And this is with the vast majority of people using EZ pass (no toll taker)
