Yes. Those poor millionaires and above, currently paying that terrible tax on that income today, will luckily stop their needless suffering when it expires 12/31/2011.

They won't have to now move out of New York! Yay! They were all threatening to, you know ... just couldn't take it any more!

Millionaires and billionaires will collectively, gain $5 billion dollars, and NY City will lose that money. Don't worry - NYC will spread that $5 billion dollars in tax loss out on increased tax rates for those that make less than a million dollars, to get that money back. Or stop giving out $5 billion in city services that will negatively affect every citizen, not just those of wealth.

But the millionaires and billionaires won't have to move from that nasty New York! Yay!

But nice to know you side with the millionaires, and not the protesters. Your opinion, you're entitled to it.

But then perhaps you should not bitch about the cost of city services for "cities that have no money" when the protesters simply exercise their constitutional rights as citizens of that city.

It looks really bad.

Chuck: Protesters cost money! Cities don't have money! Bad protesters! They are expensive!

Beth: Those protesters are protesting the loss of $5 billion dollars in city income, due to tax breaks for the rich in that city. That will cut city services like fire, police, sanitation, and negatively affect everyone, or increase the taxes on those that make less than 1 million dollars.

Chuck: But millionaires will leave the city without those tax breaks!

Beth: Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, millionaires.

Actually I don't side with anyone just point out facts without the hyperbole.

Fact 1: Cities are hurting financially
Fact 2: In the near term nothing being protested will change anything about fact 1
Fact 3: Anyone who dares bring up facts 1 and 2 will be browbeaten into being "for millionaires" or other foolish labels.

The amazing thing is that Riot has actually semi-supported things that were being done by a Democratic Gov in a firmly democratic state (NY tax credits) and supported a position that Obama opposes (transaction taxes).

The concept, "Ah don't think any of them damn dirty hippies know about Glass-Steagall" isn't a fact.

It's only your own opinion that protesting will not change anything, not a fact.

Nobody has browbeaten you for being "a millionaire" (nice "I'm a victim" attempt, though) so that's not a fact.

If you think I've supported NY tax credits here, you need to re-read the thread (I've not said if I do or not, you've just assumed I do, but if you bothered to ask, no, I do not)

Ah, you've fallen back to your straw men and ad hominem

I would use the "you put words in my mouth" but I think you patented it.

Exactly where did I call anyone a name? I stated that very few citizens of the US know much if anything about a fairly obscure act of Congress. It is hard to believe that anyone would believe that 40% of the protesters at Occupy Wall street are familar with it considering virtually every person with any gripe in the NY metro area has been there protesting something. The idea that almost half the people there understand what the act means or what was amended is a stretch of epic proportions.

No you were against the Tax credits which is new for you considering you usually fall into lockstep with anything Democratic. What about your guy Obama's opposition to the transaction tax? No comments on that?

Intersting that you chose to ignore the 3 facts that I did post

I will give you credit for consistency
