I'll be more pleased if he actually does allow more drilling, in addition to the pipelines, AND increase our refining capacity, AND get the drilling back in the gulf.

I'll be ecstatic if he gets drilling in ANWR.

More U.S. oil, less imports.

Sources of U.S. Oil Imports

Each day, the U.S. uses about 21 million barrels of oil- more than any other country in the world.

It imports about 58% of it. Here’s where we get the oil.

11% Canada
11 Mexico
9 Saudi Arabia
8 Venezuela
7 Nigeria
4 Iraq
8 25 other countries

Source: U.S. Dept. of Energy.

Not sure where your figures are from but they are a good bit off

Canada is far more important, OPEC is still heavily involved though.

US Department of Energy, but it doesn't list the years covered.

I like your chart that shows Canada is 21% of our imported oil (I thought it was more), Opec countries 49%.

There is no reason for us to use so much oil in this day and age - we go through it like crack cocaine addicts.
