I guess Scott Peterson should have also walked as well?

Oh wait, you wouldn't hit it.
I doubt Bob has any interest in "hitting it", I know being with a woman who may well be a sociopath doesn't interest me. The state had no cause of death, no time, date or place of death, what exactly is the smell of human decomp? The motive was weak as Ms Anthony had plenty of opportunities to party while her daughter was alive, what suddenly changed? Peterson had a concrete motive and there was more evidence. The result leaves a bad taste but the jury didn't allow TV talking heads to make their decision, they made their own for better or worse. That's the way the system is supposed to work. The state overcharged going for capital murder.

If you were ever unlucky enough to smell it you'd never, ever forget it.

For sure. 20 Years ago I had a great uncle hermit type who cooked in his closed up house for 2-3 months. My Grandpa and I were with the cops when they went in. There are times to this day I get a whif of something that will remind me of that stench.

Never will forget it no matter how badly I want to.

Yeah, I've had the misfortune of coming upon rotting corpses in Nam as well as in Norfolk, Va...I am well aware of the lingering yuck...but in a trial, evidence must be factual, not "smelled like" or "was consistent with", that was my point. There were lingering questions about the car...why didn't George notify the authorities and how did he know the car ran out of gas and that was the reason it was abandoned (the state presented no evidence that he was told the car was out of gas yet he went to the impound lot with gas cans), perhaps he just assumed this or was even told yet the state presented no explanation despite the defense questioning this midway through the trial. The state relied too much on Ms Anthony's behavior and lacked solid evidence. A circumstantial case can be powerful if solid, this case was far from it.

IMO The smell is so unique, 'smelled like' and 'was consistent with' don't exist.
