It was a given that a horse with a particular number would win the Derby so the formula should be for the odds of that number repeating 2 more times. The actual odds of the number of the Derby winner also being the number of the Preakness and Belmont winner this year is 9/20(since 11 numbers would have no chance) x 1/9 x 1/12 = 9/2160 or 1/240. So take your choice. 2160-1 or 240-1 depending on how you want to spin it. |
