Gales, Miami's win against Minnesota had zero to do with last nights game. They were slow out of the gate because they haven't had a freakin safety worth a damn since Jake Scott and they made Clemens look like the Randy Moss of tight ends. If AP had scored on that last goal line stand last week the Dolphins safeties still would have sucked.
human nature allowed a letdown , they didn't come out with any fire or not as much as the jets , they left a lot on the field in minnesota and it took them a few series to get it going , they spotted the jets the 14 , too much to overcome

the bears s/b a bet against tonight as well , they put it all out onto the field last week in big d , while the pack jogged against the bills ....will see chuck

the bears are a dog so the system isn't as strong but

There was no letdown. They came out with plenty of fire. All this neblous bullshit drives me crazy. The fact was the Jets coaches obviously saw that Miami's safeties are soft and designed and called a bunch of plays that exploited that. Not to mention some stupid penalties that kept Jets drives alive. The first play on offense that Miami had was an overthrown where Hartline was open and could have had a TD. The fact was that the Jets exploited Miami's weaknesses and didn't turn the ball over. You can talk all you want about schedules, injuries, letdowns, etc but I will take turnovers as the key to most games.

IMO the Bears are a play against tonight because GB is a lot better than they are, not because Chicago won last week. Those systems always look a lot better after the games have been played...

Plus Minnesota has issues and not a top team that everyone thinks that they should be.

Come on Marty. Are you really saying that the Texans weren't up to play in the battle if Texas? I think it more of a desperate 0-2 Dallas team in a must win situation then the Texans not being really to play their in state rivals.

the 0-2 dallas situation was a part of the play , but, you have to factor in how much that washington game on the road took out of the texans

all week long we heard they were going to go into washington and take care of business , they would get up early and then just run foster down the throats of the skins

well that didn't happen , they expanded every ounce of energy to make that comeback in washington , couple that with the dallas situation and they were a clear bet against

i can maybe buy a letdown in baseball or basketball after a tough game where all you have is a day or two to get ready. football players have a week to build up for a peak performance game day. they don't need to maintain the performance for any more than 3 1/2 hours and then they have another week.

you're overanalyzing if you think anything outside of actual injuries the prior week plays a significant role in a nfl teams performance a week later.

if you think these guys come to play 110% every week you are crazy, there are games that take a lot out of the players and they just can't give a max effort the next week , does it hold true in every case , no , but it does a good portion of the time

The Bears are a bet against because they suck, not because of the bounce theory

So much for a so-called let-down!

But I know I'm going to hear this crap throughout the whole week on the up-coming Bears-Giants game.

1) This should be a let-down game for the Bears as they played 2 hard the last 2 games, and they have to go on the road for the short week.

2) The Giants are hungry.

Blah-Blah-Blah.

The Giants are the same team as last year with slight changes at LB and RB. At RB they are stronger with Bradshaw taking majority of the snaps, but weak at LB. Not enough change to improve from their 4-10 record in the last 14 games dating back last year. Plus they have turn the ball over 36 times in those 14 games. Not good when you are facing a defense that thrives on causing turnovers.

There I said it before the fatigue non-sense has been mentioned.

nope not at all , the plays are taking the road team in certain situations when the home team comes off a win on the road , hold more weight if they were a dog , but it works against favorites too

the bear/giant game will be out the bottom of my list

the bet against teams next week are :

Falcons - beat big time divison rival on the road in ot as a dog , playing a team that looks like it's season is over , the whole world will be on atlanta next week - line opened at 7 , those that bet early have knocked the 49ers down to 6.5 , my guess is that the public will bid the line back up to 7 by sunday
Titians- win on the road as a dog and now come back and are favored by 6.5 over a denver team that has not looked good . denver s/b able to put points up agaisnt this team , have to watch the line
Eagles - 2 wins and covers on the road , redskins come off a flat performance in st louis , pts will be golden in this rivalary game , hoping to see skins +7 , perhaps a ML play here on the redskins as all 4 nfc east teams can beat each other on any given day
Steelers - another team that comes off of 2 wins on the road , charlie batch against this D , no thanks , line is telling you that Baltimore will win this game

1 other game that merits attention - oakland - they played real hard in AZ last week and the Texans a team that many had going places after a 2-0 start - the texans could be a value play here as we should see a better effort out of them this week after not showing up against big d
