One word that describes Debussy since settling into Arlington? Swagger.
I've been sucked in by morning work looks before, but totally agree with NTamm. Very few non-accomplished foreign shippers run their career best race in the Arlington Million.

Summit Surge just ran the best race of his career...will he double up? Debussy does not class up to these and was still beaten by Summit Surge last time. Tazeez fits most - his third in the Prince of Wales's was a monster effort in a great race and he gets back to ten furlongs. He'll be the only Euro on my tickets in the race.

1st race in 1:02.04 on yielding-good turf. Not much cut in the ground.

Incredibly INEXCUSABLE ride by Dominguez. Tons the best and gets the horse beat. Guess he's only good at the save ground-last move ride on claimers.

I have been saying that for a while. When real money is on the line he doesnt deliver. However most people on this board thinks he is the greatest turf rider in the last 30 yrs

Hard to ask for a better trip from Tazeez and he still couldn't get it done.

Need Perfect Shirl tonight to make it up.

Buick cut it fine turned a near disastrous ride into a winning one - he is a smashing lad.. would have been fun to cheer him home with the Chicago guys in the stands

Buick is an up and comer, he rode a blinder in the EP Taylor last year. I like this kid.

Are you serious? What race were you watching?

Tazeez hopped in the air then swerved out at the start, spotted next to last almost two lengths, then was rushed up under Richard Hills to pass the entire field in the first quarter mile, settled on the rail, then sped up to run a 23.3 third quarter, was sent for home with three furlongs left, and despite all of this, was STILL beaten only 2.5 lengths. He did the most running.

Totally agree after his terrible start took him out of his game. Fine effort. Gosden came loaded this year. Congrats to him for finally getting the win in the MILLION. Class act. Congrats to all connected with Debussy. Probably pointed to the BC Turf at CD according to Gosden.

I don't know about 30 - but he's unquestionably the best turf rider since Bailey retired - and for my money he's better than Bailey ever was in turf races.

Value wise you are going to get a better price on Dominguez than you would on Bailey. HOWEVER when the going gets tough I would take bailey over Dominguez anyday. Dominguez is a great common every day claiming rider but he is no Bailey.

By the way: Bailey had a ton of caddy's for guys like Mott and Frankel in those big Gr 1 turf races.

Just a question...did you actually watch the race?? On what planet is Gio Ponti tons better than Debussy today considering the winners issues?
