I think I've posted before, but at little Ascot Park near Cleveland a horse named Hit Head seemed to be a regular in the "exotic" Daily Doubles (the ONLY exotics in the early 1960's).

The track announcer seemed to savor the opportunity to have a stretch call with a somewhat slurred "and here comessssSSS..Hit Head!"

I looked at "Rock Hard Ten" with nary a 2nd thought about the name until my wife laughed out loud when noticing in my form one day.

I remember a horse in England from the 80's that was called Mary Hinge, until they had to change it. Most people would reverse the M & H

I dont remember the only one eye part, but that would explain how they got the Jockey Club to approve the name.
