Wow, I'm so unhappy about this. Poor Invasor - what lousy timing. I hope he'll be ok. A high fever can take a lot out of a horse; even if they choose to supplement, will he be at his best?
DaHoss, I agree with you - this sucks. I thought Bernardini was going to win anyway, but Invasor is such a good horse. Unbelievable.......

The sure as heck don't want Invasor actually beating Bernardini either. Why risk it? If they ran and Invasor won, then Bernardini's HOTY would be out the window. That's why you'll never see DC run against Bernardini either -- DC would leave him in the dust and they know that.
As good as they are as horsemen, they are even better at business. A JCGC win, followed by a BC win, and HOTY, and Bernardini's stud fee would be astronomical. It would be stupid to let one of their other horses ruin all that. Looks like they can almost manipulate the market at this point doesn't it? They didn't get all that money by being nice guys.

Horses are avoiding Bernardini (read the DRF article from a couple of days ago) and Kieran is giving that colt the utmost respect - he knew how good he was before the Preakness. Therefore, it seems to me that if anyone would resort to ducking, it would be Invasor's connections.

well...if anyone thinks invasor is indeed NOT running a fever, and is healthy as a --well, you know, and that they aren't running invasor so as to keep bernardini from losing--than i guess you could connect all that together and say that those who feel bernardini is the surest thing this year would be wrong. right?
actually, i think invasor is running a temp, as stated, and may or may not run, as stated. it's horse racing, it's not freaking national security.

Why would Mcglaughlin say he was running all this time and suddenly come up with what some people think is a phony excuse? If he was yellow why wouldnt he have just said 3 weeks ago no way am I going against Bernardini?
Even if he was yellow he could still pick up a nice 2nd place check in a grade 1. I think its legit.
