A friend of mine had to find another jockey for their horse who was running later on the card after their jock went down. He didn't say how the jockey was, but one of the horses that tripped was reported to be ok.

Any update on this? I also saw the race and would like to know how the horses and jockeys fared.

All three jockeys were OK. Jorge Guzman took it the worst and was treated at a local hospital for a few busted teeth and a broken nose. Chacaltana and Landeros walked back to the jocks' room on their own power.

Thanks, glad they were not seriously hurt.

Some sport where a broken nose and loss of teeth is "not seriously hurt". Brave guys, jocks.

The horse that fell on the lead had to be euthanized.
