All horses et al ,had just gone to the track. Noone was in the walking ring. The horse dumped the jock out on the track(according to eye witnesses) then ran back through the tunnel down toward the saddling area.

I was walking along the clubhouse rail(bordering the path to the track) out in the table/umbrella area. I was heading to the track when I heard that "thunderous pounding of hoofs" and then City On Line ran by me doing at least 30mph. I heard someone scream loose horse simultaneously as City On Line flew by me. I don't think anyone was in the tunnel that I heard. Fortunately.

Horrific thing to see. People were stunned. Very sad. I wish I was somewhere else.

I swear, you think you hear close to everything, and then something like this happens. Nothing but a terrible turn of events.

Were they all over the thing that happened during Derby week? If not, I can't see them going too crazy over this since it should get much less publicity than that did. . . A quick look at the major racing news sites doesn't show any mention of it (maybe tomorrow). This sounds like a particularly terrible and tragic incident, but not one that will add fuel to the anti-racing fire simply because of a lack of press.

Please.. they are total frauds. Not a peep about the training hour incident or the three on the same morning the Monday before that or Stormallory on Oaks Day. Canadian Matt Winter and American Phil Dutton, two famed Olympian Equestrian medalists, lost horses Kingpin and Bailey Wick at Rolex and Jersey Fresh respectively since April, and not a word from these phonies.

They just jump at train wrecks where they can wring out a gullible and ill-informed public in their pathetic attention and money-grabbing schemes.
