I still want her to try the PGA Tour a couple more times. I don't think she could be or beat Tiger on a daily basis, but she could be an average player on the PGA Tour, which would be a far better accomplishment than winning on the women's tour which no one cares about.

I completely 100% disagree with that. on her GREATEST DAY EVER she couldnt beat Tiger's WORST DAY EVER. Tiger could beat her lefthanded and blindfolded.... (I do realize that you said you dont think she'd beat Tiger... but the thing is, she cant beat anyone on the PGA tour consistantly)

Cant even compare men to womans golf. The worst golfer on the PGA tour (actually having his card - i'm sure some girls could beat club pro's) would look like Tiger if he played in the LPGA tour.

Anneka tried and couldnt even make the cut. She was smart, and realized that women are inferior to men when it comes to athletic ability. Wie will never be the kind of golfer Anneka is/was.

The courses the men play are THOUSANDS of yards further than what the women play. If she played on the PGA tour she'd be lucky if she made 1 or 2 cuts per year... in the tourney's that the top players skip.

Its like saying Serena Williams could beat Nadal. Its rediculous.

They are about 1,000 yards longer. I'd say the average LPGA course is around 6,400? Is that fair....and the men's....7,400

Tennis is different. You rely on strength to hit the ball as hard as you could.

In golf, you can rely on strength, but if you are really, really accurate you can make a living as well. Michelle Wie hits the ball about as far as Fred Funk does. Would you find it strange if Fred Funk won a PGA Tour tournament? He's done so enough times with his average 250-260 yard drives.

The problem with Michelle Wie is that she is trying to hit it 300 yards in the regular PGA tour, when she should play within herself if she's trying against the men and just hit it 250 down the middle.

I really don't think it is impossible for Michelle to be an average player on the PGA Tour. The statistics on women playing golf on the PGA Tour aren't big enough to make a conclusion on whether women can do it. Who has tried? 5 or 6 people? There needs to be a bigger sample than that before you can draw a definite conclusion that no woman can do it. And if any woman can do it, it will be Michelle, as she isn't afraid of the criticism that comes with playing on the PGA Tour.

Besides that, I like the fact that Michelle flies in the face of conventional wisdom by having goals beyond the LPGA.

She has her dream of being on the PGA Tour, and whether or not she fails, I applaud her for trying. She doesn't let anyone tell her that she's not good enough, and in that sense, she already beats all the other women in my book as none of them think they are good enough.

Fred Funks short game is only a billion times better than Michelle's. It is VERY impossible for her to be an average player on the PGA Tour. Truth be told she would struggle to be average on the Nationwide Tour.

I have spent an awful lot of time around tours and seen some really incredible players. Michelle has the potential to be very very good on the LPGA Tour. People don't realize the disparity between the mens and womens tours. I can comfortably say that in my best years, I could have made a very nice living playing against the caliber on the LPGA. I came close to qualifying for a Nationwide event ONCE. Best I ever did was make a cut on the Hooters Tour.

I remember that tour, it was for all golfers 5'8" and under.

LOL....The only thing holding this girl back is she is a choker severe. That's it. I have never seen a more classic choke artist. To be brutally honest, Stricker is one, too(a functioning one, though.) So, there is still hope for her to have a career of some sort.

Now wait a second....is there a female deficiency that would prevent Michelle Wie from improving her short game? Maybe she will never be long, but she can practice her short game to that point of someone like Fred Funk.

I'm not saying she is good enough at the immediate moment, but I don't believe it's out of the realm of possibility in time if she worked on it.

No deficiancy, but she doesn't have enough years left on this earth to improve her short game enough to be even average on Tour. The PGA Tour money list from spots 150-250 are filled with guys with the exact same kind of game as Michelle...hit it a long way, hit it solid, but have NO short game whatsoever

Gales mentioned Michelles showing in the LPGA majors a few years back. There are guys on the Nationwide Tour that could win the Grand Slam in a single year on the LPGA. The games simply are not comparable.

Drive for flash and putt for cash right Kev? 2 and 3 putting holes will ruin your score just like missing the green on your 2nd and 3rd shot.

Don't get me wrong here, Michelle is obviously very talented. I truly think she was steared in the wrong direction very early on in her career. Yes, she almost made the cut a few years ago at the Sony Open, but that was on her home course that she knows like the back of her hand. Other than that, she has performed poorly in other PGA events she has played in.
