![]() People in this country are too quick to dismiss alternative health therapies, all the while zealously defending an industry that absolutely is the leading cause of death in the western world.
It's a source of constant amazement for me, that people will mock a holistic modality of healing, or even a simple supplement that has had 'peer reviewed' studies done on it showing how dangerous it is, when nothing could be further from the truth. Do you really believe everything our government, doctors, health agencies spews out at us? I'm guessing you probably have a high sense of disbelief with these things, except when it comes to health issues. The thing I really find amazing, as I was mentioning above, is that these people will lose it about something like a simple vitamin that was shown to have an adverse effect in one person, all the while triumphing how great pharmaceuticals are. It's utterly ridiculous that people are afraid of a vitamin, a natural food (say raw milk, for instance), chiropractic care, etc, while gobbling down a drug that has killed over 100,000 Americans. Say, Vioxx, for one. Don't forget, since you mentioned acupuncture, that mainstream medicine once mocked, ridiculed and tried vehemently to discredit this old method of healing. The only reason it is now acceptable is because ordinary everyday people like us made an informed decision and refused to cave in to the fear and hysteria that western medicine tried to instill in us. If something works, people will talk about and share their experiences with it. Quote:
