The travel involved is insane. Because so many of these tracks are so far apart you would need to move your whole operation 4 or 5 times a year. What about stalls? The number of stalls at each track varies widely. What about statebred programs? What about the tracks left out? Keeneland has no spring meet? Belmont has no fall meet? No racing in NY after Saratoga? The whole thing is stupid. It isnt even a good pipe dream. Mountaineer only runs in Jan and Feb?

Thanks. I never think about those kind of things. I just bet on 'em and watch 'em run in circles

chuck - nyra wouldn't go for it - 6 months of no action with slots coming to Aqu in the plans doesn't make sense

You say this like it's a bad thing

Seriously though... while the number of racing dates could certainly be downsized, eliminating the Belmont fall meet is laughable. Aqueduct 3 months a year with a 3 month break in Dec-Feb makes a lot of sense... let the good NYRA horses go to GP, the mediocre ones to Philly, and the really bad ones some time off.
