But, anyway, when I browsed the Palm Beach Downs worktab, I saw that a horse who was listed as a yearling out of that excellent race mare White Cliffs turned in a four furlong 49 1/5th move.

Either it's a misprint - and that's really an unnamed '06 foal out of White Cliffs, or someone is pulling a Ron Ellis and has their years mixed up.

When did Ellis get his years mixed up, and with what? Just would like to know what you are talking about...

Ellis mentioned during one of Declan's Moon's myriad of "comebacks" that he was pointing the horse for the Strub Series at Santa Anita, exclusive to 4 year olds.

That is complete nonsense. Ellis never said that he was running the horse in the Strub series that year. Someone else posted this once before on this board. I challenged them to find the article where Ellis supposedly made the statement. The reason I challenged them was because I knew that there was no way in hell that Ellis made the statement. He would never make a mistake like that.

Anyway, the person on this board directed me to the article. Nowhere in the article did Ellis mention the Strub Series. The only thing that Ellis said was that they were pointing the horse for the big races at Santa Anita. The author of the article, who obviously did not know how old DM was, then mentioned the Strub Series. The author was confused. Ellis was not.
