I thought when he ran so bad in the Classic after it seems missing a prep and running so poorly in his first starts this year that he might have been been done, at least as far as chasing the G 1 win. Then he runs real good in the Woodward. I didn't watch the races too closely today but it didn't look like closers/deep closers did well at all. |

![]() I completely disagree. Sun King's biggest scores have never been at classic distances; yet he constantly is thrown in races against the very best the handicap division has to offer. The horse is a good, solid horse - he just needs to have the oppotunity to run in a distance that suits him.

![]() All of his graded stakes wins have come at distances between 7f and 9f. I think he is still capable of winning a few more graded stakes races at those distances if he is spotted correctly.
He didn't run THAT terribly today. At least he beat the horses he was supposed to beat and picked up a check. |

![]() I would hope after today we will see him in the BC Mile and 70 yards where he should have a good chance.

![]() I've always liked Sun King, not to win but to figure into exotics. I would love to see him win a big race. Zito doesn't shy away from putting him in with some tough company.

![]() Come on, Nick Zito is the best trainer in the past 25 years. I am sure he knows what is best for Sun King. His win % over the past two years cleary shows that Zito is on top of his game and that he knows what is best for all of his horses.
