You're 100% right. I heard that Nafzger said,"what's the point of going on to the Belmont?". But that might have been his initial reaction after watching his horse run a winning race only to get nosed out. Hopefully the top 3 finishers of the Derby come back to run in the Belmont. Steve Asmussen was holding his cards close to this vest. Hopefully the syndicate that purchased him will want to add to Curlin's value by running and winning the Belmont Stakes. Street Sense's owner is 83 years old. He's not going to have many more chances to have an opportunity to win 2/3 of the Triple Crown. Street Sense should be able to handle running in the Belmont. He is a "fresh" horse after all having only run in 4 races since November.
