He wasn't offering the opinion as his own. That difference seems to be going largely ignored by those that have been very rough on him.
The questioning didn't come from what was said, it came from the fact that he stated that the colt was sore at CHURCHILL DOWNS, when in fact, the work was at Keeneland! Then he states that Curlin however was handling the CD surface great, when Curlin hadn't even worked at CD yet...

When he was questioned about this by people posting comments on his blog, he got nasty... that was unnecessary. He should have corrected his original comment, apologized and moved on... but nope.
