Laochi struggled with the track, running poorly, but Leeloo had no problem with it, running away and paying $12 and $5.40

$256 wagered
$283.40 returned

Side note, one of my fans let me know yesterday that my ROI isn't correct because I am not taking into account the cost of a DRF and cup of coffee every day. I didn't want anyone else to miss out on high level humor like that.

Day 33 Travers Day!

Fantastic card today. I know a few of the stakes are light in terms of number of entrants but the quality is there. Let's make some money.

Best bet: Race 11- #8 Zandon
I flirted with making G Munning in the 4th my best bet because I think that horse has a big shot but ultimately landed on Zandon in the Travers. First, pricewise, I think he's going to get lost on the board and will be 5th choice behind Epicenter, Artorious, Cyberknife and Early Voting. I think the Jim Dandy was a prep in every sense of the word. He was much closer to the pace than he had ever been and made the first move on Early Voting because Prat didn't want him to get away in that small field. He's much better when he can relax early and make one run. I thought he ran well in the Jim Dandy making that first move and then digging in to hang on for 2nd. I'm just hoping he's sitting 3rd or 4th early, makes the one run and can run down whoever is in front at that point.

Longshot: Race 12- #6 Fuoco
Serpe barn has been going well all meet. I think this horse rates a big chance today based off his last where he blew open the race around the turn and tired late in a race that fell apart. The two horses he put away around the turn ended up finishing 8th and 10th (last). Should be a giant price anyway and going from Jose Ortiz to Trevor McCarthy should add a few points as well.

Good luck!

Zandon ran better, but was no match for Epicenter and just missed 2nd. Fuoco went off at 18-1, led for 5 1/4 furlongs of the race and was nailed late, finishing 4th, beaten two necks for all the money. I'd say conservatively it cost me about 5k, but I could be underestimating. On to the next day.

Day 34

Best bet: Race 9- #3 Caramel Swirl
Super tough race where the entire field can win. I'm very excited to bet this filly today. Got an easy prep, won here last year and I think she sits a perfect trip behind the pace, while getting first run on the closers. I just think she is the now filly and should be in the 8 to 10-1 range.

Longshot: Race 8- #3 Fluid Situation
This is a major stab. But, he worked well on the turf 9 days ago, with his rider Javier Castellano up. Is a half to a few turf winners, should be alone on the lead on a course that plays very kindly to inside speed and I love the confidence of running him here. He has all of his conditions still and Terranova thinks this is where they want to try him on grass first out. Besides, who are the world beaters in here to be afraid of? I'll take a shot at what should be 20 to 25-1.

Knew Fluid Situation was a stab and he did show some sharp speed but went way too fast and stopped. Caramel Swirl ran into a buzzsaw but did get up for a second at a ridiculous 15-1 and paid $12.20 to place

Day 35
Last week, 6 more days of the best meet in the world. Hopefully we can finish off strong.

Best bet: Race 4- #2 Baby Blythe
She was a best bet earlier in the meet, was going way too long, was very rank early chasing a slow pace and stopped. Back to the right distance, should get speed to help her run and I have always thought she's a filly was a lot of talent. Hopefully she has one of her good days today

Longshot: Race 7- #3 Duress
Tough race where if Seven Scents shows up, the rest are probably running for 2nd. But with Keeneland right around the corner, seems like they are throwing this one away. I wanted to take a shot with Duress who I think Prat will fit like a glove. This is the right level, should be in a good spot behind speed to get first run on closers and I thought he ran better than the winner last time (who is in here) chasing the slow pace.

Baby Blythe was a bad pick (again). She's not very good and time to divorce from her. Duress somehow found himself dead last early, way behind the rest of the field. He closed strongly to miss a photo for 3rd but was no threat to Seven Scents
