Remind me please of another country who celebrates their "freedom" with an organized rape? I'm sure they will be bringing those responsible to justice soon.

Yeah, because the hundreds of thousands who protested peacefully and non-violently for 18 days - including women and children in the square - don't represent the country, while the acts of a few do.

Yeah, that's never happened in the United States, women getting attacked and raped after football celebrations, during street parades/parties, etc.

Glad she'll be okay.

Ditto. What about the soldiers and women who saved her - they get no credit for being "that country celebrating democracy"?

This happened Friday and went unreported for 5 days with live streaming video of Anderson Copper being shoved and giving back a bittch slap? Either CBS sux or something is up? Guess CBS and the rest of the media felt the protesters (Muslim Brotherhood) overturn of the government trumps a little old rape, heck even Obama praised them with no mention of this woman. At least her head is still on I guess. And Riot your excuse "Yeah, that's never happened in the United States, women getting attacked and raped after football celebrations, during street parades/parties, etc." is despicable.

BTW Glad your glad she’ll be OK.

WTF?????? I now believe you haven't a clue of what forcible rape is?

Glad she'll be OK? Yea wrap it up and get back in the game.

if it were Al Qaeda instead of the Muslim Brotherhood it would have been her head instead of 'Glad she'll be OK'. So there is a bright side.

I don't recall ever hearing of a situation where a reporter was raped covering an event regardless of how out of control the crowd became.

I don't think this says anything about Egyptians as a whole but it does give insight into the chaotic and savage behavior of some of the rioters.

You're an idiot, Dell. I'm glad she wasn't killed. She's alive, and lucky to be so, and lucky to get out of the hospital. I wasn't making light of her attack.

There were other reporters there, who were taken by the police, held and beaten.

You think all those protesters were Muslim Brotherhood? If so, you're clueless.

You guys who want to slam all Egyptians because of what happened to that poor reporter, but fail to acknowledge violent people can be everywhere - that's what's despicable. That was no "excuse", Dell, it's true. But let's not let that get in the way of hating Muslims. Even the ones that saved her from her attackers.

And you're an insensitive biatch. Tell us again how she's all right? Tell me when 200 anybody assaulted a reporter in this country. Tell us how the protesters are so peaceful and the Muslim Brotherhood (In Egypt) does not want to form a political party. And for you to think this woman is anything but f'd for life proves who's the idiot. At least in American eyes.

are you kidding me? Where the F is the blame other than the US.

Glad she'll be okay?

I'd bet she (Lara) would want to punch you in the face! Rather than worry about bashing muslims.

That post had no blame on the US for Lara's attack. Are you crazy? Try reading the next two posts I wrote to you, too. You know, where I said how horrific her attack was, that others were attacked too, that there was no excuse for her attackers, and again, that blaming all Muslim Egyptians for her attack is despicable.

Let's put this in really clear terms, Dell, so you won't continue to misunderstand and falsely represent what I think about this:

The attack on Lara Logan was terrible, horrific, and her attacker should suffer five times what she did, then be tortured to death. Yes, I'm very glad she'll be okay, in that the possibilities and closeness of that call were horrible, that she was rescued by Egyptians (who were probably Muslim!) and soldiers (who were probably Muslims, too!)

The attack is not representative of Egyptians, or Muslims, or Muslim Egyptians, or Christian Egyptians, or of democracy - it is representative of violent attackers. Violent attackers exist in democracy, too. The referral to Egyptians celebrating democracy by beating and rape was a despicable slam on all Egyptians.

Got it now, Dell? Now, if you want to continue to talk about this, tell me what you think about this op-ed. I posted it early in the thread. It's titled, "What not to say about Lara Logan".

http://www.salon.com/news/media_crit..._rape_reaction

I know you will click and read the whole thing, but here is an excerpt:

Quote:
Here’s what you do say when something like this happens. Like countless women around the world, Lara Logan was attacked in the line of duty. She was assaulted doing her job. It was a crime of unspeakable violence. And your opinion of how she does that job, the religion her assailants share with a few million other people, or the color of her hair has nothing to do with it.

UPDATE: After an overwhelmingly negative reaction to his tweets, Nir Rosen has resigned his post at N.Y.U.

You probably should have started with the next two posts and then told us how it happens here.

When you said "Yeah, that's never happened in the United States, women getting attacked and raped after football celebrations, during street parades/parties, etc."
I took that as it's so common here why even mention it there.

You know because in America it happens at more than just protests. Coupled with glad she'll be OK? That is despicable!

BTW A Bright Side Note for you: This is what the GOP would call 'forcible rape' and thank the lord she'd be exempt from the right to life christians and be afforded a Federal funded abortion provided she was under that care plan.

I figured that mignt be one of your worries.

Sounds just as odd to me in its entirety. Forgot about your football game/parade comparison.

Yeah, especially if you deliberately ignore the posts I made afterwards discussing it. Face it Dell, you're a complete lying loser. Stop lying about the totality of what I said on the subject, and making it falsely seem like all I said was she's okay.
