![]() Time Magazine ranks Edgar Prado's quick thinking "save" in the Preakness as its third best sports performance of the year. Very interesting how they framed it, focusing on Prado's human actions in the Preakness rather than Barbaro's equine actions in the Derby.
It's a very sad example to use, but I think a really small, but great example of how human stories need to be woven into more coverage of the sport. Without Prado's quick thinking and unflinching willingness to pull up the Derby winner the instant he felt something wrong, our beloved Derby champion likely would not be here to awe us further.
