now, this isn't down under sire list, but for england and ireland. coolmore stallions swept the top three spots. sadlers wells of course is the standard bearer for nothern dancer, he is in third place. danzig is represented by several sons on this list, which makes the contention by some that he was some kind of failure as a sire of sires even more laughable. one former poster even posited that the Rock was sold to a japanese farm(he was not sold, but will follow his sire danehills footsteps in standing there for a year) due to failure in the shed--yet his positioning on the list for first year studs belies that opinion.

![]() and for those who wonder why everyone is running after what few danzigs are left, they're looking for the late, great danehills replacement.
it is really a shame that this incredible horse was lost at a relatively early age. he still had many years ahead of him.

![]() I dont think the Rock has been quite as good as they were hoping for, well at least in Europe. he got a back end G1 winner in Mount Nelson a as well as impressive G2 winner Eagle Mountain, but with the mares he got, more was expected.. I dont think he'll be the next Danehill!

![]() he may not be, but what are the odds that any horse could be the next danehill?! anyone expecting that will be disappointed. awful high bar being set.
