Default The Only Race to Look Forward To

Is the Cigar Mile. For the rest of the year there is nothing else I care about. Let's get a good enough group together to test Discreet Cat. Can't wait.

BOS runs there or in the Citation right?

I look forward to lots of racing this time of year.
b/c there are less big races, I think I almost appreciate them more.

CD has the Clarke, Falls City and the 2 juvy races.
Hollyparlk still has the return of the Turf Festival.
dont care about their main track racing anymore.
SA starts the day after Christmas with the start of the Strub series.
Aqueduct has the Ladies Hndcp(1 of 3 graded stakes for females on dirt run at 10f) and the 2 juvenile races.
Laurel has the DeFrances and the Futurity on turf.
there are still some things to look forward to.

lol,
hey 2 of my all time favs one the Ladies Hndcp.
Summer Colony and Savedbythelight.

but yeah, the Cigar is obviously the main event at Aqueduct.
probably their biggest race they run besides the Wood, and might even be bigger than that.

Im certainly looking forward to it.
Left Bank's win was one of the most impressive runs I have seen.

I loved Left Bank. Loved him. Maybe Pletcher's best horse ever. Definitely better than English Channel GPK!

AQ is such a depressing place. I feel like tossing a toaster into the bathtub when I'm there. Just bet online, don't go there.

I hate to see a grand old race like the Ladies H become a trashy inner track staple. It was one of only a half-dozen or so races for mares that was made G1 when they introduced grading in 1973. It has a storied history, winners like Shuvee, Tizna, Bastonera, Flower Bowl, Rare Treat, Next Move, Vagrancy, Top Flight, Black Maria, Maskette, Miss Woodford, Firenze, Beldame - so many mares who were deemed worthy of having races named after them.

Up until the BC was introduced, the Ladies was the year-end championship race, but the Distaff stole its position on the calendar; that was the beginning of the end for the Ladies. RIP

hmm,
did not know that.
I always liked it b/c it was one of only 3 graded stakes on dirt run at 10f for older fillies and mares(PE, Del Cap being the 2 others that I know of).

thanks for the information.
