![]() As I was making a bet using a betting kiosk, there was a $530 dollar voucher left. I turned it in and was told to wait, then overheard that funds had been used. The tellers then ask me if I relinquish claim of ticket, I go yes it's not mine, they radio something back to whoever, thank me and tell me that's it.
Just want to know if it was handled properly and if I had any legal claim to money which is why I was asked if I relinquish claim. I've been playing horses since 97 and this is first time I've had this happen. I wouldn't take money or make a claim since it's not mine even if I had some entitlement to it, especially if some poor guy forgot his voucher. |

![]() This happened to me once at Saratoga, but I was on the other end. I left a voucher in the machine, noticed it about 2 minutes later, went back to the machine and notified a teller who then contacted the mutuel room. They told me someone had placed a $20 bet off the voucher, but returned the remainder of the voucher to me, while cancelling the original voucher. Hopefully, this is what was meant by "funds had been used", the original voucher had been cancelled and restored to another. Hopefully.

![]() Are you sure it wasn't a cashed out ticket or voucher? I see them all the time left around and they look almost identical to an unused voucher. When you put in the machine it doesn't give you any money.

![]() I've left them twice in machines at the OTB. Both were caused by machine delay and you always have to check. Both were around $400 and I got it back. The first one they put a hold on it, which makes it uncashable. Guy came back later and tried to cash it, they told him it was illegal and threw him out for good. The other one a guy had cashed it right away. They were able to review the video and knew the guy. When he came back the brought the cops in and had him arrested. They gave me my money right when it happened. They told me they got all the money back from the guy, he pled to a summary offense and got fined.
They told me using my rewards card made it very easy. All my transactions were linked to my nu,ber, including the voucher. I've turned a bunch in and they made it a point to tell the person who turned it in and usually they come over and thank you. Made some friends that way. From what I was told it's a crime. I'm sure some places don't want to be bothered, but they can do things to get it back. |

![]() Boy technology is running everything. How is a guy supposed to make a living as a "stooper" anymore ?

![]() Stooping is alive and well, especially at SAR, CD and KEE. When the inquiry or objection sign goes up, I grab tickets off the ground. One race I made over $400. Sure, I lost a lot of pride, dignity and self-respect, but I made some nice money.
Lately I wear a disguise. |

![]() There are about 4-5 stoopers I normally spot at track, there have been two who even cancel and cashout those $2 dollar win tickets on American P given as a souvenir at the track...lol
