Alex ovechkin gets to 500 goals, and one of the fastest to do so. Joins 42 other players all time who have gotten to that milestone.

A wonderful moment! I only wish I had been there in person to see it. I played John Walton's radio call a few times it is great! The GREAT 8 is SENSATIONAL! GO CAPS!

Was watching him warm up during a recent Caps-Sabres game over the holidays in Buffalo. He went full speed the whole time. Had Backstrom put ten pucks on a faceoff dot while he went to the other one. Then unloaded ten one timers on the goalie. Headed to the locker room right after that and gave his stick to a Buffalo fan on the way in. Scored the game winner.

He's really developed into a leader. Wasn't sure we'd see that happen.
