Default International Star Scratched

Looks like he was scratched this morning. Sucks cause I was using him.

From Paullick:
International Star, leading points-holder following the Road to the Kentucky Derby, is a late scratch according to officials in the Churchill Downs media center.

And that gave Ramsey a temper tantrum. Stephanie's Kitten and several other of his horses are out, too.

he Ramseys' multiple grade I-winning mare Stephanie's Kitten, as well as Scrumpdilicious and Coalport, were scratched from the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (gr. IT). The Ramseys' Granny's Kitten was scratched from the American Turf Presented by Ram Trucks (gr. IIT).

Ramsey did not provide much detail on the scratch of Stephanie's Kitten other than to say it involved a disagreement with her trainer Chad Brown.. The other two entries in the Turf Classic would have provided early pace for the mare as she was scheduled to take on males.

First Ramsey was mad at CD because they gave him crap about I S, then Brown and Ramsey squawked at each other, Ramsey finished off his tantrum by scratching some more.

wonder if he thought he could run IS anyway, and they said no...i don't imagine he likes being told 'no'.
some owners are more interested in themselves than their horses-is he one of them?
i have no doubt it would be a bitter blow-but the horses wellbeing should be paramount.

Have they announced which way will they go with the post positions? It looks like they'd have the option of emptying the #2 post or compacting from the outside:

I hope they move out, I'd like to see both Carpe Diem and Materiality not be hampered by their posts, it's more exciting to see nice horses run without being disadvantaged before the gate even opens.

Damn, I was afraid they'd do that. But it does seem reasonable to give the outside horses a break, too.

Talk about cutting off his nose to spite his face. You've pointed horses toward a start and pull them to pitch a hissy. "With the rich and mighty always a little patience" is right.

The people wigging out about foot bruises on the Bloodhorse.com comments are truly ridiculous. I've seen two people calling for retirements of horses that just got them e.g. Palace Malice and International Star. Some backseat vets we probably need to hire for the BC this year.

I'm in Tampa and have some friends on the backstretch at Tampa Bay. One of them is with a string at CD. She PM'd me that Ramsey and Vesuvius could have been twins. He erupted all over the shed row. She's on the next barn over.

from Bloodhorse...http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...from-the-derby this is probably old news

"The Ramseys' multiple grade I-winning mare Stephanie's Kitten, as well as Scrumpdilicious and Coalport, were scratched from the Woodford Reserve Turf Classic (gr. IT). The Ramseys' Granny's Kitten was scratched from the American Turf Presented by Ram Trucks (gr. IIT).

Ramsey did not provide much detail on the scratch of Stephanie's Kitten other than to say it involved a disagreement with her trainer Chad Brown. The other two entries in the Turf Classic would have provided early pace for the mare as she was scheduled to take on males.

"That's an issue between me and Chad Brown," Ramsey said. "I won't get into that in the press but none of the three in the Woodford Reserve will be running in our colors today."
