Default Brian Griese who?

As a Vikes fan- it sucks that they lost. But Rex Grossman, now that he's healthy, is starting to show his talent- finally. You guys gotta remember that in his last 3 seasons, he maybe played 7 regular season games total.

In his rookie year they ran with Kordell Stewart for 3/4 of the season before they decided that he sucked and the bears were hoplessly out of playoff contention. In his 2nd season, he blew out his knee in the 2nd game of the season (coincidenatlly at Minnesota). And last year he had more injuries and Kyle Orton started over him til the end of the year.

So I think him and Chad Pennington could be a lot alike. If they stay healthy, they'll be effective, and their teams will win. Today's game for Rex was ugly (the game as a whole was ugly, and too penalized), but he made the big paly down the stretch when it counted. I don't think Rex is gonna relinquish the starting QB job to Griese unless Rex gets hurt again... which is a very good chance it could happen. But as long as he's in there, I think he'll be good for the Bears.

A weird, but accurate example for Rex, might be Chris Chandler. Chandler was always injured, but when he played, the Falcons won (which coincidentally, and sadly, included his deafeat of the Vikings in the '98 NFC Championship game).
