Default Interesting Development In California

http://www.sonomacountyfair.com/docs/febrace.pdf

Public Comments : Vic Stauffer presented a letter to each member of the Committee, with copies to be given to all Board members, and asked that the committee give him the opportunity to be the Announcer and to reconsider their decision to hire Michael Wrona as the 2012 Fair Announcer.

That has to be against some kind of announcer code right?

What about the poor lady who is afraid her kid will lose her box after the board denied her appeal to have his name added? Are boxes at the Sonoma County fair really tough tickets?

Seems like a classy move. He should be proud.

Perhaps it's the wrong analogy but would you stand idly by while a petty thief stole the purse of the old lady next to you? Of course not! Even though it isn't necessarily any of your business and even though you are not directly affected, it is your moral responsibility to look out for the greater good.

Look, it may not be popular, but certainly one can't argue that it was probably done for the greater good of the game.
I wouldn't want to be standing next to you in a fire.

He should have done a Power Point presentation.

Vic moved on the board members of that committee with the speed of Caller One, the class of Rick's Natural Star, and the heart of Dynever.

I meant Vic when I wrote "He," not you.

Sorry, my bad. I misread that in the context of the prior post.

DaHoss---just curious why you felt it neccessary to "out" Stauffer on (at least) two message boards?

I'm not against reading a good scoop or trash or anything of the kind but it appears to me that you are being overly zealous in your attempt to share this information.

It is public record so you are not doing anything wrong in sharing but just seem a bit eager, as if you don't like the guy or have something against him...maybe I'm reading into it too much.

Wouldn't the time to lobby for a job be before the job is filled? I prefer Stauffer to Wrona but to claim greater good of the game is a stretch.

Your analogy is just idiotic.

You've got a lot of nerve considering your performances the last few days. Stick to fake bets.

Seriously...I don't even know what Stauffer wrote in his letter. If he directly asked them to reconsider the hiring of Wrona and used Wrona's name then it's pretty unprofessional. If he wrote a letter asking to be considered for a job as a general inquiry...then it's much to do about nothing. But without the actual letter...who knows?

I think Wrona does a great job calling races and would guess the Fairs would be more than happy to keep him on.

You do realize the actual letter is part of the public record in the link posted in the initial thread, right? bwahaha
