Yikes - it's a pretty nifty field in the Whitney even though Formal Gold is the highweight.

It will be interesting to see which version of Flat Out shows up.

Wonder if Morning Line will stay at the morning line of 10-1?

According to PG'85....

"Only two horses can possibly win the Whitney. The rest have NO CHANCE!"

After my refusing to ask him which two ... he got annoyed and disclosed that only Tizway or Duke of Mischief can possibly win.

Eliminate accordingly.

I'd be thrilled to see Rail Trip look like himself again. I won't hold my breath or anything...

Just sayin.

Haven't looked at PP's yet but I'm a fan of Pomeroy's Pistol and Miss Keller (well -Tapitsfly too).

Looks like a fun day!

Used to be a huge Rail Trip fan. Sure hope he can run his best race and get up here. At 12/1 on the morning line, I'll be really happy afterwards if he gets it done.

I don't want him to remember it. I want him to relive it. Hell, Larry Bird remembers how good he was but that sure as hell wouldn't help him play today lol.

The De La Rose is an interesting race.

Deluxe is, I believe, the second to last of the Hasili's.

It will be interesting to see if Mott can get the same sort of results that Frankel did with progeny of that mare.

My betting strategy for the Whitney:

Automatically toss out any horse at 6-1 or lower. Every single horse in the race has a shot. Put the other numbers in a hat. Draw out four and box them in the exacta.

Looks like Mott is doing his best Frankel, scratching Deluxe!

Ended up playing big on Rail Trip and playing him with Mission Impazible and Rodman.

In the Test, Turbulent Descent with Salty Strike and Pomeroys Pistol. Small saver on American Lady.

wtf isnt Leparoux on Tapitsfly! Robby's ride showed again what happens when you get too cute and let a horse on the lead who happens to gets brave and forgets to stop. Freakin Tapitsfly should of just taken the lead or at least press the winner more. Tapits ran a winning race, unfortunately his jockey was a dumbass

Saratoga's racetrack is extremely slow.

Two horses off of 113 Beyers last out seperate themselves from the field - and the naked fractions and naked final time is snail like.

Obviously - the pace was a whole lot quicker than some people are pretending it was - and this from someone who bet Flat Out and tossed the winner.

Track was about as dead as you'll ever see. Track super Kozak chose not to water at all the second half of the day with the storm zeroing in. It was heavy and cakey and dull.

Dare you say, the "2 best dirt horses in training"?

Between the two of them - I think they clearly have the three best dirt performances this year at a mile and up.

I'd rate Flat Out's win in the long one-turn race the best performance I've seen - with Tizway's last two close behind.

Blind Luck and Havre De Grace can be trusted to fire everytime -- but I don't think they can handle "the good" and "healthy footed" Flat Out or Tizway when he gets a favorable trip that his early speed most often allows.
