103 for the Ca. turf? I guess the second place finisher ran a career top by several? Turf figs are useless

I agree that figures are pretty much useless in turf races ... but Cherokee Artist did run a 95 in his prior turf start - and when you consider that he was making only his 3rd lifetime turf try yesterday, and he just missed winning at 26/1 odds .. I don't think a 103 is all that unreasonable.

Anyone have a beyer for Tidal Pool at Thursday from Oaklawn? Drew off to beat older Fillies and Mares by 8 lengths in an allowance. Just curious because it was a pretty impressive performance.

What's the discrepancy, like 3 or 4 points?

Either way you slice it, she'll have to run faster to win a Grade 1.

Fortunately, it was only her first start and in maiden company. Adding in her pedigree, she has a license to improve immensely in subsequent starts.

They cant get an INDY or Storm Cat(recently) to be a runner but a Forest Wildcat wins first out? The dam hs been productive and with the lose of Pine Island I am sure they are hoping for a decent replacement.
DrugS told me 1 sec at 7f's is about 12 BSF pts. She went about a sec slower then D Funnybone who got a 99. I thought 85-88 would have been right.. Not that it matters to much. will see what CJ comes up with.

Well, first off the variant was split on the day. Beyer took six more points off of races 1 and 2 compared to all the other races on the dirt on the card.

I sometimes argue against split variants, but I don't see it here. 80 looks pretty solid as a race figure and the pace was average with no real effect on final time.

isn't a length considered one fifth of a second?

NO! That is one of the first things Beyer changed to get away from parallel time charts.

Freddy,

This link has beaten length charts and speed charts.

I'm trolling for CJ love as hard as I possibly can with this avatar.

I feel like a desperate girl with a huge crush who is being ignored by the apple of her eye.
