Default How do I get a winner's circle photo....

of the mare I bought off the track recently? I'd really LOVE to have a winner's circle or finish line photo. She's not going to race anymore, she's now just my baby. I have a rather large(and growing) display of racing photos in my home and think it would be so cool to have an official picture of my own "racehorse" to add to my collection. Can I just email the track and get a copy from the photographer? I know some people on this list own racehorses and would probably know how to go about this.

Thanks, I know this is pretty trivial, but it means a lot to me.

I'm not sure, but congrats on getting her! What are your plans?

My goal is to purchase and retrain a retired racehorse myself, although it will probably be a long time before I can...still, I'd love to find a nice gelding and start 3-day eventing with him, since that's the part of riding I haven't been able to do yet! Learn together, and all that...I've worked with a few retirees before and love them, quirky as some can be.

Contact the track photographer directly.
A way to find out is to go to the track's web site, get the name, and take it from there.

Cool

Grab a few beers hang out by the winners circle and wait for the race to be over and follow all the excited people right by the security guard

DAMMIT!!!, Thats *exactly* what I usually do!! I wonder how many winner's circle photos my mug is in??? And later on, the real owners are looking at the pix, going,"who the hell is that??" "I dunno, must be the stall-cleaner" "I think I saw her cleaning tack", etc....But I somehow managed to NOT sneak into my mare's photo ops. Granted, there weren't that many of them!!
