"Ceasefires" do not equate to meaningful and lasting peace ...

... only dead terrorists do.

This "ceasefire" will only provide the terrorists with an opportunity to regroup and rearm ... and result in an even greater conflagration before very long.

As long as Israel exists ... there will never be peace until all terrorists have been killed.

Somebody, ANYBODY, tell me what the Israelis accomplished and why the hell they are stopping at this curious juncture?

Other than $30 billion in damage to Lebanon, what the hell else did they get done?

The finger pointing in TelAviv is going to be hot and heavy.

This was horribly difficult diplomacy that might not work. For just a touch of the difficulties... This article is NY Times so some might again find it biased, but on the whole they do an outstanding job of reporting by getting statements from key players. Anyway it is worth the read:

I dont think this is going to work. The problem being that when the cease fire starts, Hezbollah will still be allowed to attack Israeli positions in Southern Lebanon, and Israel will of course be allowed to retaliate while the UN group takes up position. I think in this interim if Hezbollah makes a raid that is effective, Israel will retaliate with a forceful message, and the whole thing starts up. I dont think Hezbollah can resist the urge to stop firing the missles into Israel while Israel pounds away at their positions for at least a week in retaliation for soldiers killed in Southern Lebanon.

I hope I am wrong.

They have shown that a terrorist organization is armed to the teeth that is a neighbor of theirs that was supposed to be disarmed. They did not get their soldiers back(unless they make an exchange), but they have exposed a very large threat on their Northern Border. They have shown the world that Hezbollah will fire rockets among innocents they use as fodder. They have shown that Hezbollah and Iran are closely tied to each other. And they have shown that they vastly underestimated the capacity of this terrorist threat and that their citizens must decide how much their Northern border means. Do people just leave the Northern cities of Israel?

And if the ceasefire tonight and the repositioning that will take more than a week does not work, you will see a buffer created by the complete leveling of Southern Lebanon. They still have troops massed on the border. And their airforce can easily pound any and all structures above ground at least 10 miles into Southern Lebanon. They will in effect make a sterile zone where only Hezbollah in their tunnels will be. Israel went into this conflict with minor use of their military. The TV makes it seem like they have ruined Lebanon. If they use their larger conventional weapons, Southern Lebanon is a true wasteland. Southern Lebanon is a tiny areas and can be completely destroyed. World opinion and their own democratic citizenry holds them back at this moment. There are generals who wanted to do much, much more. Right or wrong.

In the meantime, Nasrallah proclaims victory and has the thanks of an understandably grateful Lebanese people for successfully resisting the occupation.

Absolutely ridiculous all Israel could do vs these rag-tags was play to a draw.

Stud: hardly considered a Draw by anyone in Worlds' arena! Israel is giving the factions enough rope to hang themselves...because if there are infractions then the opinion of the Leaders involved with peace process will know who the culprits are, and hopefully deal with them accordingly. No question they need to look outside the BOX for a solution!

It sends a very clear message to any Nation that harbors terrorists. There will be one hell of a price to pay if you allow them to attack Israel.
