On paper, this looks like perhaps the least complicated sequence of races offered thus far in 2009 for the Magna 5.

Steve, I know you're tight with Circle E racing.
Do they feel good about Mr. Sidney Saturday?
Obviously a much tougher spot for him.

This is the best Magna could do? Someone ought to tell Dick Powell (http://www.brisnet.com/cgi-bin/edito...e.cgi?id=14025) that the economy and poor fields that Magna has been putting together for this wager - especially the typically poor allowance/claiming lead-off legs at Laurel - have each probably had more to do with declining pool size than his theory about the minimum bet amount.

This looks like a difficult renewal of the Magna 5. Leg A looks like a spread race. Georgie Boy is going to be on most tickets and probably a single. If GB loses this wager will pay huge. The Mac Diarmida looks like a race that multiple horse look like they can win. I think Summer Patriot is a live longshot.
The Golden Gates race has three FTS' , the rail horse with one start. Then LEG E is a cheap grass race with a lot of cheap speed and many horses who don't like to win.

Lee loves him.

Reasonable guess, at least, given that he loves every horse he has ever raced. Of course, now that I see the Cop talked him up on Steve's show ( Jock agents Steve? ) I find him even more ridiculous. The horse, not Mike, as in his case that would be hard ( just kidding.....he's a good guy ).

LOL.. Jock's agents are typically excellent guests. ... I called on Sellito to give an on the spot appraisal of Dunkirk's race, and then gave him a chance to plug his weekend stakes mounts...

But Bill Mott turned up on ATR today too, and likes the way Sidney has worked towards this. Has to prove himself still versus top company, but if he's ever going to prove he is the horse he was meant to be, he needs to step up.

Oh, I trainer who likes his horse! OMG! Bet a million on him.

Please, you know as well as I do that Mott is only running him here because Lee wants to run in this spot.

Sellito likes Dunkirk? Like someone who relies on trainers liking him would give an honest appraisal of a horse ( even if he could ). The last racing opinion he gave me was that he liked the ride Kent was giving a horse, midway through a 1 1/4 mile turf race at Belmont, when his mount had opened up a ten length lead. Look it up, C Street on September 24th, the 6th race. The horse finished 5th....but won his next by 5 3/4 ( without Desormeaux ).

Is there anyone on the backside that you don't think has a viable opinion?

I just searched through the charts and could not find C Street. Where did Trombetta enter this horse after that 9/24 debacle. That horse was a deep closer to that September 24th race but blinkers were added for that race. I thought I was getting square odds on him but watched in horror as he went out to a huge lead. He looked like Retribution Jr. . Unfortunately he finished the way Retribution usually finishes.

He won on the dirt at Laurel. He finished second and third in two subsequent starts.

Your sarcasm is amazing. As is your analysis. I can't wait for Saratoga.
