Default Don't play.....

.....the Laurel or Pimlico Pic 3 or Pick 4 anymore.

The Maryland Racing Commission granted a request by the Maryland Jockey Club to raise the takeout on two types of wagers, the Pick 3 and the Pick 4, from 14 percent to 25.75 percent. Racing officials said the lower takeout was intended as a promotional incentive to attract wagers, but the amount of money bet on the two exotic wagers remained relatively low.

Smart move, Frank!! Maybe you can use the higher takeout cash to fund the slots application you just filed.......

they need all the help/promos they can get/give. taking this away is just another middle finger to their depleting fan base. I really want to bet 5 horse fields and hope to cash in on $17 exactas for the entire meet

I also heard the increase was suggested, and then accepted, with no discussion to the contrary.

Really unfortunate.

What a joke. In five years we'll be discussing how the slots did nothing really to help. 26% takeout. Not that I would waste my hard earned money on Maryland racing, but it sure as well wouldn't happen now. It's too bad too, because the area has such a rich horse tradition and it's so far down the drain right now.
