Default Pepper's Pride booked to Tiznow

Nice match . I assume they are physically compatible . Pedigree wise it's basically a 5 gen outcross between the couple . It's basically an In Reality/Fappiano cross. Tiznow's 5x5 Northern Dancer remains outcrossed by Pepper's Pride. Native Dancers have been limited to 3 lines and there is no Raise A Native inbreeding . There is a low 8 gen inbreeding coefficient of 0.719 %. 2.50 di . The foal will carry 6 lines of LaTroienne .

It is a D true nicks rating but I don't think Joe Allen needs to worry about that for sale purposes .

Interesting choice in my opinion. Why not go to someone like Broken Vow for half the price who is a solid sire?

Granted they probably dont have to worry about the selling price but taking a D nik grade? intersting

maybe Allen has some ins with the Tiznow group and can get a discounted stud fee?

the werk nik might be a little higher . the Broken Vow is a Fappiano cross but also has no Raise A Native or Norhern Dancer . And is limited to 3 Native Dancers. Not a bad mating on paper.

The choice of a stud is always intriguing to me. There are alot of factors that go into the decision, even gut instincts. Annually I do make the rounds in the winter for the open houses here in Kentucky because for some reason I feel I need to see the "daddy" of my babies. (My experience is limited as I have only bred seven times).

Tiznow is a very nice sire and yes maybe they got a really good deal. I have been amazed at some of the deals that were proposed to me during my rounds this winter. 25% and up to 50% reduction off the paper price were quoted to me for this season. Tough times abound.

IF it were my mare and IF I was looking to keep the baby to run I might be more inclined to have a better "paper match". However if I had intentions of trying to sell the baby I might go for a more "hot" stud like Tiznow.

Its all very intersting I think.

I wouldn't question any decision Joe Allen makes.

Since the key to Peppers Pride, IMHO, resides in the Tartan bloodlines top and bottom (Fappiano/Chili Pepper Pie), I would have liked to see more of the same for reinforcing those strong strains. Like, say, Holy Bull.

Isn't the key to Pepper Pride that she is the equivalent of a nice 65k filly racing against 3200 claimers.. And more importantly that she was born in NM. She would have a lot of trouble getting thru her conditions if she raced in open company.. Honestly anyone who expects her to be a Blue Hen producer in any place other then Paraguay or Turkey is quite the optimist... I don't doubt she could produce a nice race horse but then again DrugS can tell us about 3 nice colts this year that wee products of low level Mountainer/Turf Paradise claiming campaigns.. Basically breeding is luck with a storyline.
