sold a bill of goods and im not sure cicero politics didnt make a big part in it. sportsmans park was turned into a duel venue horse racing and car racing in diff times of year.. well 70 miles away they were building a huge brand new complex with drag strip/oval ect that was big enough to handle the nascar crowds.. and big enough for them to go fast..putting the car thing under..then not sure why but they lost intrest in the horse racing end of it..did cary sell the land? it used to be a seedy but cool track.

Oh the story is a good one. A Cicero/Chicago/Illinois shuffle. Ends with Chip Ganassi and CART racing paying a local contractor to put in a CONCRETE racetrack doomed to fail. (Need 75K plus a race and have parking for maybe 25K). The same contractor who put in the track was paid to take that same track out. Hey the Bidwells are well off for a reason. Bet Ganassi hasn't even flown over the area since. How you doin? And you all figure 'the rest of the story'
