![]() Interesting. This race takes away from the Jerome at Belmont as it lures Phipps Stable's Power Game and NY-bred Tin Cup Chalice.
I realize Shug McGaughey has run in Indiana before (I think he won the Oaks a couple of years back), and Power Game has never run in NY anyways, but it seems that if there were any Jerome hopefuls who wouldn't jump ship because of the big purse it would have been those two. |

![]() Nice effort. Too bad he lost at Belmont (quietly, on a Sunday afternoon in the Step Nicely S) to mar his record. TCC is a very nice and certainly game colt.
I am thrilled for his connections. Mike Lecesse is a very nice guy and I'm happy to see this horse (gelding literally) get graded respect. He's earned it.

![]() whatever talent he showed very early in the year is either gone, or the rest of the crop has caught and passed him.
wonder if darley is going to back out of the stud deal, or if they even can.
