Default A present from the presence of stupidty

Who says being stupid does not pay off?

I was at Saratoga yesterday and could only stay for part of the card due to a late afternoon flight home back to reality.

I started the day loading a voucher and bet the first few races without luck. With one race to go and $24 left on my voucher I put it all on the #4 horse to win. I don't be much so, to me, this was a sizable bet.

It lost and I left the track and rushed to the airport. With 5 minutes to my flight I went to buy a water. Out of my pocket came my cash and the losing ticket, except it didn't say $24 on the #4 to win. It said $24 cash balance as I must have hit the "finished button" instead of the "accept wager" button.

The guy selling me the water saw my delight and said he was going out this weekend and bought the voucher off me. I gave him a $3 tip as it would've been a pain to try and send it in to cash.

Stupid...yes. $24 richer...yep.
