![]() Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott figures to be fairly busy at Saratoga Race Course on Saturday with the Grade 1, $500,000 Diana Handicap for older fillies and mares on the turf course and the Grade 2, $500,000 Jim Dandy for three-year-olds, both at nine furlongs.
Both the Diana and Jim Dandy will be televised live on ESPN from 5-6 p.m. Also, both stakes races are part of the guaranteed $400,000 Pick Four, which will be race numbers 7-10. The Diana is race No. 8 and the Jim Dandy, which is the traditional Saratoga prep race for the Grade 1, $1 million New York Lottery Travers Stakes at 1¼ miles on August 26, is race No. 9. Biancone's Lady of Venice is running in the Diana.. she's a 3yo, but has a real good chance here. (Gorella is going to Arlington for the Beverly D.) BTW, the Diana and Jim Dandy are running on the 29th(sat), not 30th(sun).
